Nov. 13 Council Discussion of Opportunity Sites

On October 23rd, the City Council discussed a revised draft Housing Element, which addresses the City’s future housing needs through 2031. The revisions included updates to the opportunity sites inventory and narrative changes related to the opportunity sites. On Monday, November 13th, the Council will again discuss the draft Housing Element to respond to public comments received during the seven-day review period.

Specifically, the City Council will discuss potential modifications to the opportunity sites inventory, including how different affordability levels are distributed throughout the inventory, adding the DeSilva South property at 35 dwelling units/acre, modifying downtown densities, and including properties owned by faith-based organizations.

The staff report for this item will be made available on the City’s event calendar no later than end of day Thursday, November 9th.
