Lafayette! Share your Housing Stories
The City of Lafayette is updating its Housing Element, which defines and helps plan for where and what kind of housing could be accommodated in Lafayette over the next 8 years. The General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) is looking for personal stories around housing to possibly be included in the narrative summary introduction to the Housing Element to help paint the picture of the experiences in our community.
We are looking for personal stories to understand the opportunities and constraints around housing in Lafayette. Perhaps you know someone who is developmentally disabled and has been unable to find a home that meets their needs, maybe you’ve had an experience with a child or grandchild unable to find a place in town, maybe you have an ADU on your property and have successfully rented it to a college student, maybe you live in an intergenerational household or are an empty nester.
In order to create a plan that represents the values and priorities of the community, we need to hear from you! So, tell us your story. Use photos, videos or writing to share about your experiences surrounding barriers to housing, positive experiences or anything you’d like to share.
You can share your story with GPAC three ways:
Post a story or video on the public engagement platform on EngagementHQ.
Attend a GPAC meeting and tell your story during public comment.
Share your story anonymously by e-mailing GeneralPlan@lovelafayette.org.
