Draft Housing Element Submitted for Review Review by State Agency

At its June 27th meeting, the City Council voted unanimously to submit a first draft of the Housing Element to the CA Dept. of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The Housing Element update, an 8-year plan to address the City’s housing needs and comply with State laws, started in December 2020 and the new draft is a result of hundreds of volunteer hours and public participation. Thank you to all those who took the time to participate in this important community-driven process!

The initial draft was submitted to HCD for a 90-day review period and the City is anticipated to receive a comment letter in Fall 2022. The City will revisit the document to respond to the comments provided.
