GPAC Member Lottery Results

After the August 12th City Council meeting, the City of Lafayette opened its application for four residential district seats, an at-large seat, and a nonprofit seat on the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC). Staff began outreach to recruit members of the public to apply for GPAC through City newsletters and social media channels, public meetings with City Council and other City Commissions and Committees, community groups, mailings, flyers, and word of mouth. Staff also held two public information sessions for individuals interested in applying to learn more about GPAC and what it would mean to participate. The application was open for a six week period and garnered nearly 90 applications from all over the City.

On October 5th, Mayor Mike Anderson conducted a lottery drawing for the residential district, at-large, and nonprofit seats. The Mayor started with the nonprofit seat and continued by drawing representatives and alternates for Acalanes Valley/Happy Valley, Reliez Valley, Burton Valley, and Downtown. All applicants not selected to represent their district were then included in the drawing for the at-large seat, which was open to individuals who work but do not live in Lafayette. A recording of the lottery is available for viewing on the City’s Youtube channel. Below are the names of GPAC members selected during the lottery or nominated by a City Commission:
