Updated Housing Element Submitted to the State

As directed by the City Council, Staff submitted the updated version of Lafayette’s Housing Element to the California Dept. of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The document was submitted to HCD on Thursday (Dec. 14). Click here to view comments received during the public review period. HCD is the agency that reviews and approves (or “certifies”) this local housing plan and will have 60 days to review the document to provide any comments. The City initiated this update at the end of 2020 and undertook significant community engagement and research to develop a draft Housing Element to address the City’s future housing needs through 2031. Thank you to the community members who took the time to participate and provide your feedback on this important undertaking!
